After finishing their season with a 3 - 3 record, the Spartans have earned themselves a trip to the National Small College Rugby Organization's Challenge Cup Playoffs. The playoffs are a national competition among the 2nd place finishers from Rugby Conferences across the country.
The team ended up finishing 3rd in the Great Lakes Conference, Northeast Division, Behind 1st place Notre Dame College and 2nd place Baldwin Wallace. However, since Notre Dame College top team plays in Division 1A Rugby, they are ineligible for NSCRO Playoffs. As a result, Baldwin Wallace will compete in the Champions Cup Playoff as the 1st Place finisher, and CWRU will compete in the Challenge Cup Playoffs as the 2nd Place Finisher.
The Great Lakes Conference Challenge Cup Playoffs will be on Saturday and Sunday, October 29 - 30 at Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio. The Spartans will play Saturday at noon against Tiffin University at Littick Field, located at 28 Hayes St, Delaware, Ohio 43015.
