About the Team:
Case Western Rugby Football Club is a DIII athletic program participating in the Great Lakes Collegiate Rugby Conference.
The team is comprised of around 30 CWRU students, and has a very eclectic and diverse make up. With a multitude of players hailing from countries like Germany, Britain, the Philippines, and India.
The team plays 15s in the fall and 7s in the Spring.
CWRUFC is committed to playing high level rugby, as well as providing an inclusive, respectful, and passionate sports community on campus.
We partake in service activities across Cleveland, and also hold social team bonfires, and rugby game watching parties.
We are always looking for new players, mangers, videographers, and fans across campus and in the community.
The Head Coach of the Spartans, Coach Kevin "Yum Yum" Newhams graduated with a masters degree from Case Western. Having played undergraduate rugby at Washington and Lee, Kevin played both Fullback and Eight Man. Kevin has coached and played rugby in Cleveland for almost a decade, and has been the head coach of CWRUFC since the club's second season. Coach Newham is also a manager of the Cleveland Rugby Academy, a new, innovative, elite Men's Rugby Club, looking to develop local collegiate talent for higher level rugby.
Not Pictured is Assistant Coach Ray Gajkowski. Ray played Second Row in high school at St. Ignatius High School in Cleveland and would go on to reinstate and captain the Rugby Club at Case in 2014.
